"Howdy trainers!

They don’t call us Pokemon “Professors” for nothing! I’ve done quite a bit of teaching at the Rustboro Trainer School. I’m a firm believer of learning by doing. Sure, I could have just TOLD my students that Fairy is super effective against Fighting, but they gain much more if they learn firsthand which types have an advantage over which types. I’m sure this student won’t ever forget that Fairy types can give Fighting types a thorough beating…

I don’t teach too often anymore because Roxanne thought my methods were…unorthodox…but sometimes she’ll invite me to talk about my research. Orrr just to scare some more knowledge into her students!”

"Bonsoir trainers!
I hope you are all doing well! As for me? Well I’ve been very busy! It seems like you all have been busy too, since the emails from trainers have died down. Here’s a reminder that we’re still accepting people to join PokeStory until October 1st! Anyone who wants to join after the cut off date would sadly have to wait untill the next PokeStory zine. I hate to cut the call for artists off after Oct 1st, but I want to allow all of you wonderful trainers enough time to tell me your stories before the official submission date! Participants will then have until November 1st to hand in their submissions. No late work allowed!
If you are still interested in contributing, send us an e-mail with your name (username, twitter handle, etc.) and website/art blog to pokestory.zine@gmail.com. If you want to learn more about submitting click here, or if you just want to learn more about PokeStory in general, click here! Check out the FAQ and the first Pokestory issue, or shoot us an ask if you have any more questions!”

"Bon après-midi vous des formateurs!

Like every good worker, it’s always a great idea to treat yourself to a small reward every now and then for achieving big milestones in your work! Whether you’ve finished a 10 page essay, completed a fantastic art piece, or even just survived a hectic day at work, these small gifts allow ourselves to stay sane and refreshed so we can tackle the next day with higher spirits!

Any type of reward is often a great treat for yourself! Choosing the rewards can be bit a tricky. As long as you relax and rest up for the next intensive event, any reward is a great one! My reward is always treating myself to the best local desserts in the area! Even if they look a lot like my research…. You know, I might need to pick a different type of reward in the future. For now, I’m just going to slowly enjoy the delectable taste of fairy type- ERRR I-I mean, sweet mega dreams Audino cone!  Yeah! That’s what I meant….”

"Hello, trainers!

I may be a professor who focuses on nostalgia, but I’m still pretty young!  I’m on top of all these new fashion trends!  In fact, watching how fashion changes over time is very telling, especially when Hoenn’s very own champion upgrades his look!

My research is about how humans affect Pokemon, but Pokemon affect humans, too!  Steven has such a strong relationship with the Beldum family, you could almost say that he mega-evolved along with it!

Or, maybe Steven is as dense as ever and Wallace just decided to dress him.  I guess we’ll never know!”

Hi! I'm working on my submission and I noticed in the art guidelines, it states that submission cutoff is today, August 31st. But in the FAQ, it says that the submission deadline is November 1st. I'm just a little confused, and wanted to know what the final day I could submit my work is. Thank you

The final deadline for zine submissions is November 1st. We will clean up the FAQ and guidelines to avoid further misunderstandings. Sorry for the confusion!

Can our submissions be about team rocket, magma, or aqua member ocs?

Sure, go for it!

"Hello, trainers!

I’m sure all of you understand how easy it is losing yourself in something you love!  However, you must make sure to take care of yourself.  If you guys get sick, you won’t be able to help me with my research!  Ha ha.  Just kidding!  It’s important to eat.

Musa’s bananas?  Well, I’m actually allergic to bananas, but even if I wasn’t, I don’t think I’d want to pluck bananas off of my friend and eat them.  I-I’m sure they taste delicious though, Musa!”

"Hello there trainers!

I wish my research went smoothly all the time, but sometimes I hit a wall or the research data just doesn’t add up. I end up frustrated and wanting to wreck the place, but it’s fine as long as I have my lovely partners taking care of me and reminding me why I love researching the bonds between people and pokemon.

Also Paella’s pretty great at mixing and preparing drinks. I still don’t know how she does it, but her coffee is unbeatable.”

…Whoops! I let Musa take over for the week, but I guess I forgot she can’t type so well…anyway…

Howdy trainers!

Isn’t Musa so lovely? Even though she can’t type too well, she loves helping me with all of my research. That’s why building a relationship with your Pokemon is important! If my Pokemon and I can be this close, who knows how strong the bonds of other trainers and their Pokemon can be! Who knows, maybe one day your Pokemon will help you as much as mine has helped me! ;)

"Hello trainers!

While Paella and Musa help me with my research, I sometimes forget to just spend time with them. Playing with your Pokemon is important! Paella loves being able to “fly” with Musa, and Musa is always excited to race and catch her.

…What’s that? Is this safe? Of course it is! Just because I’m a professor doesn’t mean I’m not fit. In fact, during my time at the university, I was a star athlete in the Discus and PokeBall Throw competitions!

…That’s not what you meant?”
